We are an activist network empowering the hundreds of thousands of Chicagoland young adults to make local & tangible change.
$5 donated
Every month, we select a local, reputable organization making transparent and tangible change. We focus on groups making visible efforts - we want you to see that your money is making a real change in our community. We cycle through five key issues:
-
sustainability
-
safety of LGBTQ youth
-
migrant rights
-
living essentials for all
-
healthcare accessibility
We will then send you a direct donation link (no middleman!). $5 a month (or however much you're able to contribute) may not do much, but a few dollars a month from thousands of impassioned students can.
We've created a dynamic "activist map" with over a hundred local volunteer opportunities (and some remote!). All volunteer opportunities in our database are working towards visible, immediate change - no endless phone banking or email-writing.
We encourage all our activists to give five hours of your month to a volunteer opportunity in their neighborhood. Together, we can mobilize tens of thousands of hours of work on a monthly basis towards concrete change in our city.

Community
Friendship, community, and connection has always been the heart of change-making. Above all else, Five for Good hopes to bring activists together. There’s power in numbers. We, Chicagoland college students, are powerful.
Through Slack, social media, and neighborhood-specific group chats we will host community-building events and bring our network closer together. We will organize rideshares to volunteer opportunities, protests, anything you can think of. You should never feel like you’re trying to make this change alone.
